Dog Breed: The Chow, Homage to Paw Paw

My second installation of the Dog Beautiful series and a timely homage to Paw Paw, Martha Stewart's beloved late pet: the chow-chow.

Update: If you follow my posts, you know that I'm not above modifying them. Today is not any different because I've been reworking (again!) the chow dog. Tell me which one you like better!

I read about Martha's dog this morning. So sad! At least that is one dog that had a good life.

Your illustration is wonderful and I am sure Martha would appreciate seeing it.

You are so good. I wonder which one the chow crowd will like the best? I think I can see where the last one is a little closer to what they would like.

I like the second one. It seems more developed with personality. I love love it!!!! makes me wanna squeeze him and hug him! Plus it's still sharp and modern. :) Helps remind me that Chows aren't just meanies who like to chase kids on bikes to bite their legs... (I have bad memories of them in childhood. haha)

I like the 2nd one - the eyes are what I remember of the huge chow with the black tongue that belonged to neighbours when I was growing up.

Hi Lisa! I prefer the Chow with the blue tongue ... although, I don't prefer Chow's at all (sorry). When're you doing the Golden Retriever? I'm sure Chloe would love to pose for you (have you met her yet - we've had her just over a year now). I've been reading your posts since Andrew sent us the address a few months ago ... hope you're doing well!

Oy, Natasha! Sorry to hear about the childhood dog bite! I was always hesitant around Chows as a kid.

Thanks, ladies! Yah, I like the 2nd one better, too.
