Tuscan Sojourn

Ahh... how I wish it were me. Alas, one of the artists that I stalk (honest, I'm benign!) has taken a wonderful sabbatical to central Italy. Okay, it may not be a sabbatical, but hanging out in wine country to illustrate until December sounds like nirvana to me!!

Hi Lisa!

Sorry for the slow reply to the comment you left on my blog. I think i'm in the same boat as you - I have a design background but little knowledge of basecloths. I keep looking at fabric in my house thinking "what IS that?? I want to print onto THAT!". But I have no idea what it is :)

Anyway the linen I found is is a cotton blend from a company in New South Wales here called Kenndards & Kennards (+61 2 6382 6290). But given you're in the States you have access to a wealth of fabric that I can't get my hands on, so I'm sure you'll find something good over there. These guys look really good (http://www.pickhemp.com/) they have organic stuff - but it was just too expensive for me to import.

Hope that helps!
